For 35 years, Ion Beam Milling has manufactured circuits for the defense, aerospace, and commercial markets. We are actively seeking two individuals to join our team as circuit inspectors. We have opportunities for both entry level and experienced hires.

Trainee Inspector

Trainee inspectors will be taught how to visually inspect circuits for pass/fail using Method 2032 of MIL-STD 883. No previous experience or knowledge of the standard is required. Ion Beam Milling will teach you what you need to know. You will begin by learning to package circuits in waffle packs using tweezers and vacuum pencils. Most of this work will be done under varying degrees of magnification, so you must be comfortable working with a microscope. As your skill improves, you will move on to inspecting simple circuits with the ultimate goal of being able to inspect inductor coils as small as 20 thousandths of an inch square - the smallest part Ion Beam milling makes.

Experienced Inspector

Applicants who have prior experience inspecting thin film, circuit boards, or similar products are encouraged to apply for the experienced inspector position. The work performed by the experienced inspector will be similar to the trainee listing above however the experienced inspector will be expected to contribute at a higher level from the start. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with both low power (60x) and high power (100x-200X) magnification. Inspectors perform their role from a seated position and work for 2-3 hour blocks between breaks. Familiarity with Method 2032 of MIL-STD 883 is desired, but not required as Ion Beam Milling will provide any necessary training. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience, demonstrated skill, and knowledge

All applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and must be U.S. Citizens to comply with ITAR regulations. Successful applicants will be required to undergo a criminal background check prior to employment.

Ion Beam Milling offers benefit packages that include health, life, dental, disability, and other insurance along with a matched 401K plan.
